Introduced by Lucy Collins on Friday 12th Sept.@ 6.30pm in the Pavilion Theatre

Vona Groarke has published six collections with Gallery Press, the latest being X, a Poetry Book Society Recommendation for Spring 2014. Others include Spindrift (2010), Flight (2002) - which won the Michael Hartnett Award, and her translation from Eibhlín Dubh Ní Chonaill’s eighteenth-century Irish, Lament for Art O’Leary (2008). A member of Aosdána, she is the current editor of Poetry Ireland Review. She teaches poetry in the Centre for New Writing at the University of Manchester in the UK. "With their brilliant mix of grace, good humour and a kind compassionate common sense, her poems provide both pleasure and revelation." Eamon Grennan

Don Paterson hails from Dundee, Scotland. His collections of poetry include Nil Nil (1993), God’s Gift to Women (1997), The Eyes (after Antonio Machado, 1999), Landing Light (2003), Graywolf (2004), Orpheus (a version of Rilke’s Die Sonette an Orpheus, 2006), Rain (Faber, 2009) and most recently Selected Poems (2012), all published by Faber.  "Dynamic, interrogative and unsettling; crafted yet open-ended; fiercely smart, savage and stirring – from the get-go, Paterson’s poetry has been essential reading." The Guardian

Lucy Collins is a Lecturer in the School of English, Drama and Film at UCD
